Thursday, April 11, 2013:

Class Activities:

-Turn in your literary terms slides (with your rubric attached to the front) and your reading responses!

-Today we will cover the Prose and the Open-ended question sections of the AP exam.

-Two groups:
            -Go to the Moodle Site
            -Look at the Prose and Open-ended question PowerPoints
-You will have 30 minutes to read the PowerPoints and discuss the key information with your group.
-You will write the important information on poster paper.
-Make sure you know the material because you will be responsible for teaching the other group your information.
-When one group presents their information, the other group will be taking notes. Then vice-versa.
-Every person must work on and present some part of the information!

*You will be graded on the amount of work you do in the group and how your group presents the information. (Will be worth 30 points)

-Reminder: Literary Terms Quiz (T-W) will be Friday, April 5, 2013.

-Hand in reading responses if you have finished any of them.

-Go over the Poetry section of the AP exam.
            -ARTWARS

-I will pass around poetry responses that received a 1 and responses that received a 9. We will discuss what the responses lack and what they did well.
Take out your poetry responses please!
            -Mr. Lapalme will discuss what AP looks for in responses.

-I will pass out previous responses and it will be your job to put the responses in order from a 2 to an 8. You are the judge of these essays.

-If there is time left, then you must use this time to work on your literary terms master list assignment or your reading responses. *Remember, you have 11 responses due!*

Homework:
-Arrange the 'Range Finder' essays in order from a score of 2 to a score of 8. Make your judgement according to the rubric and the prompt you received in class. 
-Study for your Literary Terms quiz on Friday!

*One source must be from an AVL database like the one we looked at today. The other source must be a book from the library.

*Your two sources must be physically brought to class on Friday along with a typed, MLA format Works Cited page. I will take your works cited paper at the beginning of class, so have them ready to hand to me. I will not allow you to print them off before class. Come prepared.
