My name is Lauren Tidwell and I am a senior at the University of Mobile where I am currently working towards a degree in Secondary English Education. I am student teaching at Daphne High School with Mr. LaPalme. He is the 11th and 12th grade IB teacher, the 12th grade AP teacher, and one of the 12th grade regular English teachers. I will be graduating in May and I have hopes of obtaining a teaching position in Mobile or Baldwin County.
Some of my most favorite things to do include: reading, writing, singing, traveling, hiking, playing sports (especially volleyball), and watching movies.
I LOVE Shakespeare! I have performed in two of his plays, Much Ado About Nothing and The Merchant of Venice. I also co-directed The Merchant of Venice. I love theatre and performing. I believe that Shakespeare remains relevant to our culture and society and that his work continues to have the power to change lives through words.
I have traveled to many places around the world. I have traveled to Brazil, Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, and Uganda, Africa. I intend on incorporating what I have learned from my travels into my lessons.
I am excited to see what is in store for this class!
